iPhone 4 makes a weird sound after i turn it off

like the title says, when i turn off the phone, or rather when i put it to sleep or whatever, it makes a weird noise for 10 seconds or so then stops. Its working fine other than that, which only started a few minutes ago out of nowhere, any suggestions >?

I would try this

1) Turn off and on
2) If that doesn't work, try restoring

yea a reset stopped it, but what could have caused it in the first place?

the only way i can describe the sound is ball bearings bouncing around a etal tube
