For some reason my blasted phone doesn't do MMS. It just doesn't. It'll hang on the "sending" stage for a while, and then give me the red circle with the exclamation mark next to it, and the option to try to resend the message. If someone else tries to send me a picture, it appears to send on their phone, but just doesn't show up in mine. The text just doesn't arrive. There's some blockage between my phone and MMS. The MMS is turned on in Settings, and I've reset network settings as well.

Why is my phone doing this? It's a non-jailbroken phone running on AT&T, and I'm in one of the best cities for reception in the country.

Not to be funny, but I assume you have turned on MMS Messaging AND then restarted your phone?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

I'd call AT&T.

My brother in-law just got a Samsung Focus and after setup, texting just didn't work. Called AT&T and found out that the folks who sold him the phone (local Walmart) goofed up and didn't include a text plan or Internet service.

Well, my whole family is on a family plan and we have the $30 unlimited family texting plan. It definitely works. We don't get charged additional for texts every month. I'm gonna call AT&T.

Make sure you're sending through your data and not through wifi

If you've updated through iTunes already, then you need to contact AT&T. I have a family plan as well as the unlimited data, etc. Yet still needed to have the clowns at AT&T fix our account so I could MMS from my iPhone. Even though the wife and kids could MMS on the account I could not.

So you might want to change the title of the tread to:
"MY iPhone 4 MMS just doesn't work. Period"

I had the same issue when I first activated the phone. called ATT and they had me do a complete reinstall. Reset the phone and then download the update again. It took forever!
