My boss ordered two wanting to JB both. One he sent to his daughter has 4.0.1. The he kept? Has 4.0.2.

No soup for you!

Can you tell what firmware is loaded without opening the box (is it on the sticker on the bottom with all the detail), or do you have to activate the phone?

Reason I ask? I've got two unlocked 32gb IP4s shipping to me from Canada, and I'll be selling one. I'd prefer that the one I sell be still shrinkwrapped.

I guess I can open one, and if it isn't 4.0.1, then just open the other to check.

I got a shipment of 3Gs' today and they were on 4.0.1. I'll post back when i get my 4's in tomorrow with what they are on...

4th and 5th digits of your serial number. FWIW te 1st and 2nd are the factory number and the 3rd is the year.

Ok. Mine starts "88032", and I had 4.0.1

I'm guessing that "88" means Hon Hai, since H is the 8th letter of the alphabet.

My shipment of iPhone 4's today came with 4.0.2, so they are starting to get into retailers hands. :(

Sorry guys.
