iPhone 4 not backing up?

Sorry if this has been discussed, but if someone could please help me I would greatly appriciate it.

When I sync my iPhone 4 (16gb) with iTunes, I get this message...

iTunes could not back up the iPhone because an unknown error occurred. (-20).

Anyone now why this is happening and how to fix it?
