    hey guys

i have a iphone 4 on 4.3.5 tethered jailbroken through redsnow. and just now when i was trying to restore it so that i can get the jailbreak off iTunes gives me an error saying that the restore requested is not for this phone. iTunes automatically detects the current software to restore to so i don't know why this is happening. i would reset the setting right through the phone but last time i did that the phone bricked on a iPhone 3gs which was jailbroken as well. can someone help??

    thanks

Make sure your hosts file point to Apple and not cydia server or the restore will error out.

You can change it or make sure it points to Apple by using tinyumbrella.
Go to advanced and uncheck the box "set hosts to cydia"

Make sure you have the latest version of TU.
In the advanced section it should be the 3rd box from the top.
    Make sure its unchecked.

No, just use tinyumbrella to change the setting then close TU and open itunes and restore.
    TU doesnt perform restores.
