Pre-paid is still an option. Just use a GoPhone SIM! As for cutting, I would never attempt it myself but I got a neat little tool from a chinese site that I always use and you insert the SIM and punch down on it and it creates a clean Micro-SIM. The tool kinda looks like a stapler!
Not necessary. You'll buy for like $20, use it once, and never again. Just go on eBay and search for AT&T Micro SIM and you can get one for around $5.
Thanks everyone, just one more odd question that is off topic. When you text through google voice on an iphone does it show the iphone number or you google voice number to the texting recipient
