iPhone 4 proximity sensor malfunction?

I love my iPhone 4. But i has hung up on me at least 5-6 times and started randomly opening apps and dialing other people in my address book. I'm holding my phone in the typical position: to my ear and against my face.

Does this seem like a malfunctioning proximity sensor? I hope I don't need to get a replacement 🙁 I don't want to wait ages without a phone!

Has anyone else had this happen?
