Your best bet is watching the official HK Apple store EVERYDAY

As soon as they start taking pre-orders buy and pay for it.

Then you may be lucky and be able to have it delivered before you leave on August 10th...As long as you are in the first batch of pre-orders as i sure they gonna sell out QUICK!

Keep an eye on the online store? I wouldnt have any problems using the HK iPhone here in Ireland?

Hey guys. I will be in Hong Kong in the second week of October. And i am planning to buy an unlocked iPhone 4. I will be there for a week so i can't order it online because it takes three weeks for the delivery. So is there any other way of getting it?? Preferably from a store. And is there any way of getting an international warranty??

At the moment official Apple HK version of the iPhone 4 through authorized Apple resellers are still non-existence. It will probably not change until Apple HK online store change their "estimate ship" date to 24 hours for the iPhone 4.

As for warranty, Apple will most likely not exercise their option to ask the warranty holder to return the iPhone 4 to the place of purchase, if you live in a country where the iPhone 4 is officially available.

Yes, the only way to get an official iPhone 4 at Apple's List Price is via Apple HK online store or through one of Apple's mobile carrier partners. Of course e latter will require commitment to a 2-year contract.

In most cases the 3 official carrier partners in HK are backordered for the iPhone 4.

These are the methods to get an iPhone 4 at Apple's List Prices. Of course if you are desperate enough to get an iPhone 4 you can always pay the gray-market prices at the 2 major electronic malls: Wanchai Computer City in Wanchai or Sin Tat Mall in Mong Kok. It is not only more expensive to purchasing iPhone 4's from these gray-market places, but you cannot be certain that you are actually getting a real Apple HK officially unlocked iPhone 4 or an iPhone 4 from one of the other countries that was unlocked.

As you know paying the high price to buy an iPhone that is aftermarket unlocked is not worth the premium.

In terms of International warranty, if India is not yet selling the iPhone 4 then you will have to send the iPhone 4 you purchase back to the country where the iPhone was originally sold for any warranty repairs.
