I shattered my iphone 4's screen and have been looking around for the cheapest way to go about replacing it. I've found the lcd and digitizer sold separately on ebay for a combo of just under $90.00. Will the screen resolution be any different from before using these cheaper parts? Basically just want to know if it's going to look the same as when it was new or if it will be like I replaced the awesome retina display with some crappy low quality display.

Links to the parts I plan on using-
    Will these do the job?

    Top Gear Test Track.
I'm not sure you'll like the result. I think that the glass and LCD are fused at the factory so if you replace them with separate units there is a real chance of dust contamination.

Also, isn't the repair (replacement) cost from Apple like $199? I think that I'd pay the extra 100 bucks to get a brand-new phone.

Love your show, by the way. Can't wait to see the Rally to Restore Sanity or your interview with President Obama.

But, can't you get one of your backstage assistants to just buy you a new one?

I'm a poor freshman college student, so $100 is about 1/8 of my total assets right now.

I did, however just stumble across this- http://cgi.ebay.com/IPHONE-4-DIGITIZER-LCD-FRONT-BEZEL-WHITE-US-SELLER-/400147845055?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d2aab8fbf

    If only, if only...
