Oh yeah I'll have a look, I'm not much in the know about all these things I've always just stuck with what I've known, I'm looking at a rolling contract for the iPad (like I say i'll be buying the 3) thanks for all your help :)

edit: just having a look at barclays bank gadget insurance and for £4.88 p/m it's covered against faults but for an extra £1 p/m it covers it against loss/theft (or so it says) might pop in and ask them about it:

You can cover your gadget(s) against loss for an extra £1 per month per gadget. Your gadget(s) are covered against theft or loss as long as you report it to the police within 24 hours and get a crime/lost property reference number

Stolen iphone..what a sad loss...

I got my iPhone 4 stolen i did not have any tracking app like Find my iPhone or MobileMe is my phone gone forever what can i do?

Unfortunately without those apps for tracking/locating and no insurance, I am afraid its a pretty sad loss....how have u managed to get it stolen? and that question is to those also who have replied this thread and had theirs stolen?? I don't let mine out of my sight! Suppose thats a good thing....:(

I had the mobile me 'tracking' installed and it's not necessarily a useful thing when it comes to a stolen iPhone, I certainly found it no use (and I do understand that is not its main purpose, it's more of a 'I've lost my keys down the side of the couch' kind of application.)

And for the people who want to know how it was stolen, I didn't let it out of my sight at all so to speak. It was just a really freak thing. Some thieves are professionals and know exactly at what they are doing.

I was sat in a place which I thought was secure (waiting for my room to be ready while I was away) place, I couldn't get reception so I put my phone in front of me for (what I thought would be) 2 minutes, so I was on my friends phone phoning home. And someone must have come of the street and started mumbling at my friend (we thought he was trying to sell something) must have put a leaflet over my phone and swiped it (I tried lifting the leaflet up out of his hands while he mumbling), and it was gone! I thought maybe I'd put it in my bag, but no it was there within arms reach and then it was gone. I wasn't aware of the tricks (like I say I was away from where I live).

I once had an iPod touch stolen when I was mugged. The b*stards even stamped on my face to get it from me and there was nothing I could do, the police never found them and now they have my iPod that I ******** worked to buy!!!!!

What bastards

This kind of thing makes your blood boil, some people really deserve to be shot in the kneecaps.

got my iPhone 4 stolen a couple months back at school, same day as other peoples iPods and Smartphones got stolen, they did nothing. neither did the police. sorry, but your screwed.
