iPhone 4 stuck in recovery mode..

my friend's iphone 4 is in a recovery mode cycle of death. I have tried downloading applications to kick the phone out of the loop, i have tried holding all of the power / home button combinations, and i have tried a solid jailbreak, i have ran a UNIX code to kick it out of recovery but i keep getting error messages in itunes when attempting to restore the phone. Is it a lost cause?

Try by removing the battery and putting it back in. Search on youtube for videos on how to remove your phone's battery. Try it only if you capable of it. If you think you cant then dont risk it. Try going to a professional. Goodluck
