Has anyone seen any details yet on the amount of RAM and/or the processor speed used in the iPhone 4? I haven't seen these details on any of the major tech websites yet and they weren't covered in the keynote...

jobs forgot somthing?

In fact, jobs forgot to introduce the RAM (256M or 512M?) and the speed of CPU(800 or 1G)?

He also forgot GPU and this,

They NEVER announce that for any portable device. Unlike all the rest of the mobile device manufacturers in the world. Too much technical detail for the fanboys, I guess. :D

No, I think 'forgot' is the wrong word; 'chose not' would be better. Presumedly this is because it has the same RAM as the 3GS and the A4 is not running at full speed.

Yes, I wish someone at Engadget or something would ask the reps there - the increased resolution (and hence increased size of bitmaps etc) means more ram will be quite important.

how/when will we know for sure about RAM and if the A4 is underclocked? Even the apple site doesnt mention it:confused:

I assume you agree with this. Yeah, why tell us about important details of your product so that we can make intelligent choices. Just buy it!

Tony

Now you’re coming around to the Apple way of thinking.:)

I agree. He would have definitely bragged about this had it been otherwise.

iPhone 4 Unanswered Question: A4 & RAM

I remember seeing a post on BGR that in order to run iOS 4 smoothly it needs 528 MB of RAM. Does the iPhone 4 still have 256 MB of RAM?

Also is the A4 clock speed been confirmed at 1 GHz?

Nothing has been confirmed yet because no one can get their hands on one to actually test it.

I'm guessing underclocked A4 @ 256MB of ram.

If its really at 256 MB, it would make me really sad because the EVO 4G has it at 512 MB and I would think Apple would of done a RAM upgrade for the iPhone 4

I am concerned about how the 256MB of RAM is going to affect multitasking and app potential 2 years down the line.

And?

The longer they can hide the fact that there's faster phones, the more preorders they can sell.
