Recently when I am texting I keep on getting the same repeated text 2-3 times in a row. I asked if my friend sent it on purpose and she said she didn't.

Is it my phone or her phone acting up? It usually happens every now and then.

It's weird.

The only time I received duplicate messages was when my friend sent it twice. She thought I didn't get it the first time.

Never saw this issue otherwise.

I've not had that behavior exactly, but I have had texts take many hours to get through, both receiving and sending. Texting does not seem to be 100% consistent behavior with Verizon.

I'm on AT&T, but when a Verizon user sends me a text I sometimes get it twice and even three times.

Same thing here. It's not common, but does happen.
It seems to be a Verizon issue across all products according a Google search.

Yes, I sometimes do when a friend on AT&T sends me a text message. I even sometimes get a random mix of letters, numbers, and symbols in place of what he was trying to say.

That sucks :(

Tempted to call Customer Service and complain but doubt that will do anything.

I don't think a customer service agent behind a desk will be able to do anything about it. My understanding is the fault behind this is simply the way Verizon has structured it's service.

I'm not on Verizon but this happened to me a couple years ago. I kept receiving multiples of the same message. Turns out that my FRIEND'S PHONE was the one that was messed up, and it was stuck in some sort of loop sending the text in the background. Once my friend shut off and powered back on her phone it kicked it off of the glitch.

I know it sounds insanely basic, but may as well have her try it. Nothing to lose :)

No thats never happened to me.

No thats never happened to me.

It it from other Verizon users or cross networks? or does it not matter?

Used to happen to me on my old razr cell phone, lg dare and so on.

its actually the senders fault, because ive done research on this. their phone keeps resending the same messages because they have a network error which makes the phone think that it hasn't sent the message, so it repeatedly keeps doing it. its not you, its the other person
