Let me try to explain this to you one more time, since you keep reposting the SAME low res images over and over...

You CAN'T make a low res image retina and maintain image quality. It doesn't work that way. The images have to start out larger, or higher res in order to make them look good for the retina screen. Your best bet is to resize them yourself when you select them as you wall paper. OR, you need to find these images much larger, or higher res to begin with.

To put it more simply, if the image you start with is smaller than 640x960, then it CANNOT be a retina-quality image. You can make it larger, but it will lose quality.

Also, you can do your own resizing in iPhoto. Just import the image you want to resize, then hit Edit, then Crop, then click the Constrain box, then set the size as 640x960, then select Constrain as Portrait from the pull-down menu. It's easy, and you won't have to wait!

Credits to *KryptonStudio on DeviantArt.
I also tried to find one for my welcome screen, its the closest match i found. I dont notice the difference on your phone so.. Good enough for me.
