Hey hawaiimacaddict, you need to just an overlay layer instead of just tweaking down the opticity.

I don't always use the same adjustments, depending on the color(s) used in the primary image. Sometimes I use overlay, but sometimes it doesn't look quite right. On a couple of them, I used hard light, but I primarily use soft light. It all depends on what I think looks best, as I like to see the wood grain coming in from the background a little.
