...for those of us that bought on first day or shortly thereafter.

Anyone think it's worth buying Apple Care now before the year is up?

I bought Applecare for mine for another year today. I figured that this iPhone is going to last me through part of the iPhone 5 period and I can always hold out for iPhone 6.

Well, I'm hoping something goes wrong with this phone so I can get a replacement to hold me over until fall.

/sarcasm. :)

But I did have my phone replaced last month due to the vibrator dieing. So I think its not too likely that something could go wrong. *crosses fingers*

Just Purchased

I just purchased AppleCare for my iPhone 4. After thinking about it a lot, I realized I'm very content with my phone and probably won't upgrade. This is the first phone I've ever had for more than 6 months, and the first time I've decided to buy an extended warranty.

One nice thing to note is that if you buy AppleCare over the phone, no sales tax is charged. That saves a few bucks!

i just dropped $239 yesterday on applecare for my MBP (after student discount thank goodness).

i just wished student discounts applied to applecare for the iphone :(

This was actually a good reminder for me..I blearily forgot. I will have to check when it expires since I got it launch day. I may end up getting square trade though..for drop protection as this phone is going to my gf next.

I just got AppleCare on my iPhone yesterday. Normally, I won't go for any extended warranty because its not worth the hassle you have to through to get service. But with Apple, its pretty good.
I felt it worth it to have 365 more days of worry free warranty. It comes out to about 19c a day.

Hm, appreciate the heads up. I always forget about stuff like that. I think I'm going to forego the extension this year though.

I plan on using my Best Buy Buyback in the next 6 months for an iPhone 4S/5/Whatever they may call it.

Thanks for the reminder. Since I'll be hanging onto my iPhone for a bit longer, I extended my Applecare today. To the guys who are complaining about $69, we have to pay £61 in the uk, including 20% tax

Thanks for the reminder, i've got 3 days to decide. Although i bought with AmEx and they extend the manufacturers warranty by an extra year. Not exactly sure how it works, going to check with them.

No. AppleCare is pure profit for Apple. AppleCare will not cover for water damage or cracked glass which one of those two will happen to me. I bought my iPhone 4 on release date.

And for that you get health care. Us? We go broke and go live under a bridge and die. We do have fancy bombers and ships, though. There is that.
