Iphone 4 wifi

I've had the iPhone 4 for quite a while now, and just recently the wireless has been playing up, i can't use safari, Facebook, youtube, etc
and i live in an area that rarely even has edge coverage.
my router is set to 2.4ghz mode.

Have you changed any router settings recently? If not, try resetting the network settings on the iPhone. Or restore the phone and setup as new preferably.

I had this with the iphone i got last week, I swapped the dns settings in the phone to the public google DNS's and it improved things..

just google: google dns iphone and you'll find lots of stuff about it
