Iphone 4 wont restore - error

Just tried to restore my iphone 4 back to factory settings and it keeps hanging and crashing out before the end of the process...

Error 9 message flashes up 😡 tried it 3 times now and used different ports..any ideas anyone?

I saw this on the apple discussions forum

Had exactly the same problem with my iphone 4,
I got a mac so i went to:
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

then I deleted the last backup folder, tried again to restore
it worked.

Thanks mate tried it but still no joy seems to hang then time out.....back to the apple store I go😡 I may even return it under the 30 days for a full refund until they sort the issues out.
