My girlfriend's iPhone died at work today, it just randomly shut off like a light switch, one second it was on and the next it was off with no shut down or anything. The battery was near 100% too.

Now I know first thought is "yeah that thing is dead, time for a new phone," we were planning on getting her the 6 but she is on an employee account so we were waiting for the 6 to become available to corporate employees of Sprint.

So if I can, we need to kick start this thing to work again for another week or two.

The Power button is broken and she was using assistive touch so I can't try DFU mode manually.

Other than Redsn0w and the manual way, is there a way to put this phone into DFU mode?

my power button went out on my 4s and I was always worried about this scenario happening.

I know this doesn't help you but I can sympathize with you
