Hi, help me please!

I bought 1 iphone at apple.co.nz and I got two, I called them to tell and they asked for the IMEI number and serial number, they couldnt find it in their system or track any information about where the phone should have gone, they told me to keep it. fine I kept it!

one works fine, its unlocked for any carrier, but the one that came by mistake, the one that they couldn't find in their system is locked to vodafone, so I got a micro sim, activated it but as soon as it gets to the home screen a pop up appear asking to type the UNLOCK CODE and WRONG IMEI and the option to type the imei, I typed the one that is in the box but it says wrong, and when I go to Settings> General> About it shows the IMEI the comes in the box. In addition I get no service.

What should I do? is it a useless phone? should I call apple? even if the phone was sent to me by mistake? did they block it? whats is the unlock code?

Iphone 4 4.1

thanks for you help

There are no Vodafone-locked iPhones* so how did you come to this conclusion? It sounds like it might need to be restored.

* Is it a brand-new phone? Some other countries may have Vodafone-locked devices but none of these are sold in NZ.

I restored but when I put the sim card it says wrong IMEI and ask for the UNLOCK code

Yeah, I called them because the blocked one came before the normal one( 1 week before the delivery date). I thought that it was my phone and it had a problem...

I called and asked for help, they said the phone i got was carrier locked and i got it by mistake, someone mix up my order and I was still getting my iphone on the delivery date. so 2 iphones

i dont know why its locked to vodafone, it doesnt work with 2 degrees or telecom only when i put the vodafone i was able to activate

You may have ended up with an Australian Vodafone model (according to Apple's site, Vodafone AU models are locked). I guess that the iPhone is seeing "Vodafone" on your NZ SIM and is getting halfway before realising that something is wrong.

Also, your pics don't work. You can't link directly to your private Gmail account.
