Anybody else work 12 hour shifts?
It's always dying by he end of my shift after my upgrade when the 3GS and the 4 would last me two shifts.

:(

Yep I work 12 hour shifts, i lost about 40% yesterday in 12 hours...problem is i have no 3G coverage so i'm guessing it was looking for a 3G connection. Luckily though my battery had about 40% left and lasted all night and now is at 12% at 6.30am.

Going to see what it's like taking e-mail fetch off when at work...see if i see a better difference in battery life. Had it on for 30 mins then an hour yesterday.

still with all that my stats

6 hours, 11 minutes usage
1 day, 8 hours standby

Personally, I have no problem with my phone's battery. I usually plug it in at night, before I go to bed, and it carries me through the day without a problem. I don't charge at all during the day and by the time it's time to go to bed I'm usually at about 20-30% left, depending on how much I've used it.

My biggest question is what type of job are you working 12 hours on that you can be using your phone that much on the job and not be near a charger. I would traveling jobs, but even then you have a car.

OP get the Juice +.

It wasn't so much using the phone for pleasure during the 12 hour shift. At night, I covered more of the factory than those that worked days. I was constantly in and out of areas with and without reception.
Betwen texts from floor members, taking pictures of defects, up loading them to email, video recording line issues I would need to recharge 8 hours in to the 12 hour shift.
for the most part I probably could have made it through the shift without recharging but near the end of shift I would get a lot of calls from the incoming day shift.

IT shifts 12hrs

4s went down quite quickly prior to the update fix, now much better, will loose about 45% with moderate use over 12hrs.

All depends what your using it for I guess, everyone is going to be different.

40-45% is about right if there is no 3G connection..as it is searching for a connection. luckily it's great home..

Still get well over a day

my stats until i charged it up at 7% left

6 hours, 30 minutes usage
1 day, 9 hours standby

which i consider to be very good.

My battey's dead by the time I get home. Minimal texts during work and I'm online on safari during my lunch break. Then dead.

Wtf I would kill for that.

I work 12 hour shifts. The 3GS always lasted me the day unless I was watching videos on break or something on 3G.
The 4S is great as long as it's on standby most of the time; i don't have to use the phone for work or anything. It might get me thru a shift with light use. However, I also have the ability/opportunity to charge it in the break room at lunch, or at the computer station if I really need.

Lots of folks (regardless of their work hours) are complaining about their battery performance. Apple says they are (again) working on a solution. In the meantime, I've turned a lot of stuff off.

I would bet, when the truth comes out, that the "my phone is suddenly using so much data" threads and the "my battery life sucks" threads will turn out to be related issues and something Apple resolves in one final update.

I usually have to charge my phone in the middle of my shift because I stream pandora for about an hour on my lunch break

12 hour shift 6 days a week and my phone gets used a lot. I now have no bettery issues and I'm still rockin 5.0 on my 4s. Just turned off the things I don't use anyway and every thing got better.

This was actually a great explanation of how they can run down that fast at work. With my job I'm not allowed to use my phone to interact with things at work (OPSEC reasons) so I sometimes forget that it can be used for work.

sounds like you're not really working 12 hours then :/

I do 80 hour work weeks, (12+ hours a day) use apps several times a day, use google for quick searches, etc all of this on an iphone 4 since release day, and I still have over 30% battery by the end of the day.

You charge it each night then?

that's why you got to have a job that has an outlet.. charge your phone sometimes..
