I called them concerning if this would happen, and the ATT Representative said it would not. Yet I go to pre order and I see this.

Keep going. It tells you that Unlimited for iPhone is not compatible, and gives you an option for Unlimited for iPhone 4S. Choose that.

I think this was their sneaky way of thinking perhaps some wouldn't realize the truth, and choose one of the tiered plans instead.

This appears to be true ... I tried that and the next screen shows unlimited data for iPhone 4S. Order complete!

Is it $30? If not, it's not the real unlimited plan.

Don't panic, they just renamed the plan, and you have to sign up for the new Unlimited iPhone 4S plan to replace your old Unlimited iPhone plan. It is still $30/mo.

Thought I'd Update on this POST!
Fix

Use the AT&T Upgrader App (Free on the App Store)
and just select the iPhone 4S Unlimited Plan ($30)...
You actually have to add it too!
Then you just check-out.

I'm explaining as the AT&T.com website (at the moment)
didn't let you checkout with an unlimited plan

Never saw the option for "unlimited" though that's what I have.
Used Apple Store app.
Chose $15 plan. Will have to work this out when I go to activate.

This is how AT&T will be able to avoid future unlimited data plans.

Order complete! (ATT site)-with unlimited $30 plan. If you completed your order and didn't get the unlimited, I don't know if they will change it? Att really doesn't want us grandfathered people to keep it. Hopefully, they will let you change it. Good Luck.

strange though that I didn't see an option for the text messaging. I had 200, but that is gone now.

Did not see the "unlimited" choice when using the Apple Store app.
I am grandfathered.
Will have to work this out with AT&T later.
Glad the phone will be here Oct 14th!
