iphone 4S battery charge problem

Hello folks, I am a new member and have a battery that does not hold a charge very long. I can recharge it but decided to install a new battery. Bought two from ebay and installed each but although they both show 100% charged, when I disconnect the charger, the phone turns off. Replaced the old battery and charged it up just fine.

Ebay seller says I should leave the charger on for 12 hrs and try this two or three times and it will be okay. Does this make any sense or should I return the batteries and buy other new batteries?

Seems you've bought bad batteries.
Just return it and try other places to buy it.

I would just return them. They sound like they don't work.
