Has anyone observed the following symptoms on iPhone4s after upgrading to IOS8

  1. Battery drains at peak rate
  2. Device gets hotter even when not in use
  3. While on call the devices gets so hot that you get a message "Temperature.." and the call is dropped and you cant use it until it gets cooled down.
  4. Sometimes, call would not go through and so does the message, until you restart the device.
  5. Right Side of the phone by the sim card gets very hot.

iPhone4s works fine until you start using the cell services like calls, messages or 3G.

I have optimized the phone for battery life.
Reinstalled and even reverted the IOS.
    Upgraded back to IOS 8.0.2
Set it up as a new device, you name it and they all have been done.
Store had checked and said it is not a battery or a motherboard issue.. strange :eek:

Give Apple time to optimise it on older devices. I get the sense that iOS 8 was rushed... it truly needed another month in beta. The 4S is still owned by 20 percent of users so unless it wants to really tick off 20 percent of iPhone users they'll improve performance sooner or later.

Have you tried restore back to 8.0? Looks like you have tried everything else, so might as well see how 8.0 performs on your 4s.

What are your average full charge battery stats?

Is the phone hot the next morning while being in "airplane" mode?
What percentage of battery drain do you get during this time?

When the phone gets hotter on a call, how high is the signal strength?

Something is very wrong as your phone. Are you sure you really set up as new device and didn't restore from a backup?

The 4S might be a big sluggish at times under iOS 8 but it should NOT behave as you described.
