so im trying to take a picture of my school ID for proof for an educational discount but my iphone camera literally wont take a clear enough photo of it. the camera takes beautiful pictures from a bit of a distance, but up close its horrible. yet, the front facing camera looks crystal clear up close. any help?

Then take it from further away and crop the picture.

thats not a solution. i already tried taking it 6-12 inches away and its still not clear. no matter what i do it will not take a clear picture of something close enough to even read the "enter" wording on my keyboard. but the front facing camera takes pics like this just fine, i think my camera is faulty and the lens motor is broken or something.

It's possible. If that's what you think it is you should get it repaired. You are tapping on the ID card to focus the camera before taking the picture first though, right?
