The battery depends on a lot of things (brightness, standby time, usage, background apps, wifi, LTE, etc.) I wouldn't compare batteries with anyone, there are people on here who can get like 12 hours of usage while others barely get 6. Plus, the IP4S is about 3 years old. I get about 6-7 hours of usage (I never game, only Facebook, Instagram, texts, emails, calls) and my standby could be as high as 16 hours.

Yes, but it isn't possible that to somebody it last 7 hours, and to an other it last 4 hours

Ciao, why are you on edge ? If this is caused by a poor network coverage, then that could explain your short battery life.
By the way, 5 hrs with a three years old iPhone is not so bad ...

I'm in edge because 3G consume too much. And my iphone is only 1 years old...

Take it to the closest Apple Store in your area and let the guy from the genius bar make a full battery diagnostic.
Then you will know if your phone has software or hardware problem.

I think you will get the best answer in Apple store. No one can tell you if your battery operates well until a diagnostic is made. Everything we say here is just a guess.

I usually got 4-5 hours max with my 4s, and the battery health was fine. I'm a heavy user though, and always kept a battery case or external charger with me.

Realistically speaking, AFAIK, on its own 3G should consume less than something like EDGE. If you have bad 3G signal though, then it could be using more certainly if the EDGE signal is fairly strong and consistent.

Wrong. 3G has always consumed more power than Edge if the signal strength is for both equal

That depends on the area you are living ... A spotty edge coverage could be more demanding than a strong 3G connection.

So you think my battery have a problem?

You can do a test by yourself: download iBackupBot on your computer, connect the iPhone and check the battery status. Then report it back here.

In my house, on the ground floor, the Edge is excellent, an 3G is bad. But on the 1º floor it's the opposite.

IF the signal strength is equal, but in 2014 the 3G coverage in Italy is quite good and thee are many places where edge network is spotty while 3G is strong. In this case the phone keep trying to connect and exchange data via slow connections like edge or GPRS is actually consuming more than 3G.

It depends on the area whee you live/work. In big towns is very strong (in Milan you have strong 3G coverage also in the subway, and 4G network coverage is quite good).
It Is not easy to give a rule valid for all the people, since it is location dependent.
