I bought 3 4G's for myself and family and 1 from Verizon(work phone) and I don't understand the complaining about Sprint. I have tested the two phones head to head and the speeds are almost identical but Sprint usual wins. The plans are better and they are pretty easy to get along with because they don't have that were big enough to do or say what we want attitude. I am happy with Sprint. I wish more people would give them a shot, they really are a great company and have done a lot for the Kansas City area. I live here so I see it everyday. For a company that is having a hard time maintaining they sure give a lot out to help the community.

I wish Apple had got one for TMobile too...I can see them getting really hurt by not carrying the iPhone.

Gonna be AT&T - T-Mobile is no longer even trying (got no coverage in areas I used to get coverage, and some of their stores around me are closing).

So, how's Sprint been? Was on it over 5 years ago before T-Mo and I had no problems...

Doubtful. Unless it gets them about 5 million new customers a quarter.

Some of the posters here just want Sprint to fail. I don't understand this attitude; even if you are happy with AT&T/ Verizon, good for you, it is really to your benefit that Sprint does well. We already have only 4 major carriers that will unfortunately soon become 3, why do you want it to be 2?

who cares?

I don't want Sprint fail at all. I'm just being realistic. They need to gain millions of customers to become viable again as they have lost many millions of users in the past few years. I was replying to LTD's Apple is the savior of Sprint post. It's going to take more than the iPhone to get Sprint back on track. I hope it helps them, but they have other issues to address that they can control. I don't want it to be 2 carriers. I liked it better when it was Verizon, Cingular, AT&T, Sprint and TMobile. It if becomes only two, we the consumer will pay the price.

I would be worried that Sprint's network will not be able to handle the iPhone, just as it crippled AT&T's in many areas. Sprint doesn't have the money to throw into their network like Verizon and AT&T do. I hope all the carriers do well, monopolies are seldom good for the consumer. I hope they do get their act together. If the AT&T TMobile deal goes thru, I don't think it will be much longer until Verizon and Sprint merge.

Sprint will never merger with Verizon. And they have been working on their network constantly. Thats alot of the reason they are in financial trouble. And why do people say that they do not have very many customers? How does anyone know for sure. They are very tight lipped about things like that. Hell, they won't even say how many phones they just sold but I bet it was close to as many as Verizon!

There are industry wide quarterly reports. Sprint has lost millions of customers over the past few years. It's not speculation, it's fact. And people said Cingular and AT&T wouldn't merge, ditto for TMobile. Sometimes it becomes a matter of survival. They are in financial trouble because they were poorly run for years and lost too many customers, not because they were reinvesting in themselves. The 4G deal with Clearwire is a good example of poor leadership. Now they are abandoning WiMax. There is a reason they don't give first day sales numbers.

I'm happy now that I've transitioned back to Sprint; I left because AT&T had the iPhone and an unlimited data plan. I was grandfathered on AT&T, but I don't want them slowing my bandwidth down, or changing my plan like they have for some users. In Washington DC AT&T's coverage is spotty. Today I had a nice uninterrupted call with my wife, until I had to park in an underground garage.

I remember the day I got my first iPhone. AT&T's network sucked. I'm just happy Sprint was better prepared and didn't drop any of my data/calls like AT&T did with the first iPhone release.

I hope Sprint doesn't pull a Verizon and sucker people in with an unlimited plan and then change it to a tiered version like they did with my Galaxy S. I have a personal and business phone, and I'll be dropping the Droid soon because I don't like it.

I wonder how much is the new antenna on the 4/4s? A friend stuck with AT&T after having nothing but constant reliable dropped calls, since they got the 4s on AT&T said not one dropped call

There was an article (TUAW?) that showed an antenna comparison. I know the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S from Sprint have the same antenna design.
