iPhone 4S not listed under devices in iTunes

The past week or so when my iPhone is connected to my wifi network, I don't see it listed under devices in iTunes. I connected it to a usb cable, made sure the wifi sync box is checked, and restarted my iPhone and MacBook Pro.. what's going on???
