3 iPhones, nothing but great

I've had 2 previous iPhones and now the 4S. I have a Touch 4G and I have friends with iPhones and Touch 4G.

No issues so far for me or that I've heard from my friends. I don't think I'm a fanboy, as these are the only Apple products I own. I've had to reset it twice, but I think now that's an iOS issue with one of my game apps as they occurred after I last used the app and during its use.

No defects, no issues with materials, workmanship, etc. Feels solid and looks beautiful as always.

All great. :)

I would go the droid route not a Motorola droid, but just an Android phone. Well the Motorola is an android phone, but something like a Samsung or HTC which are all android including the motorola. Many people call the Samsung and HTC driods also and of course the motorola which has the name droid in it's name on some models. I would check out something like that. Ya know an android/droid type of phone like the samsung or htc...Or yes even the motorola droid which is an android just like the samsung, htc which are called droids too.

you can put android on an iphone the software that is. you cannot however put a droid on the iphone, because droid is just the kind of phone it is, well it's an android phone. Android and droid are kind of the same thing, but they are different because you cannot put a droid on an iphone, but android you can. it's confusing, but I would certainly look into an android kind of phone, not the iphone with android on it, but a droid with android on it. well a droid always has android on it right. I would go that route.

Just because one buys apple does not mean he can't make a complaint. What kind of a world is this? My iPhone 3GS' headphones would not work after 1.2 years - no applecare, so I bought an amplifier which connected to the data port and allowed me to listen to music - not that convenient to carry around all the time. And now my iPhone 4 droops 5 out of 20 calls I make.

This is not perfection. But it sill is the best phone in the market due to the ecosystem. But guess what, I wrote in with complaints for both cases.

My iPad has a dead pixel right in the center of the screen - and my white macbook does not align all that well when closed.

Should I switch to windows?

It was sarcasm, some get it some don't.

*Sighs*

Yeh it's just for a premium product I am disappointed in the errors everyone is finding.
Forum posts aren't statistically useful in the way you're thinking. Think about it. How many people post threads saying that "everything is ok"? Of course a lot of people here have problems. That's the nature of any discussion forum site where the topic is a given product. Consider the millions of units sold. Every company ("premium" or not) has lemons and Apple is no different.

No but just because one has bad experiences with a product doesn't mean that there's universal trend going on either as the OP is implying.

As someone else, said, if I was having what I perceived to be repeated problems with a given company, I'd seriously consider the alternatives.

Mine is having volume distortion problems as well. When I activate Siri and then exit my volume jumps way up in loudness then goes back down after about 10 seconds.

Got an appointment with Genius Bar tmrrw. Hopefully they'll replace it for free.

I am pretty sure that is a software issue. All 3 of my phones have done this. If you have an otherwise good phone I would not return it for that.

I'll ask them tomorrow. Worth a shot to find out what they say. There are some people on here who aren't complaining about distortion.

You are on your 3rd iPhone 4S?

Wow, such a striking revelation. I wonder if others know this :)

iPhone is software and the device is Apple isn't it? Oh it's what Apple calls it's device an iPhone. The Apple iPhone. Or the Samsung Galaxy S2 Android or the Htc Thunderbolt Android. Getting an Android would probably simply mean get another smartphone besides the iPhone on the Android side.

Alot of great alternatives that run Android. Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Bionic, HTC rezound, stuff like that :) Or he could of said get a Windows phone, wait windows don't make phones??? But some brands who use android software also use Windows. Android and Windows is the alternative.

My 4S had horrible build quality. The home button wiggles very loudly, the rattle on the camera is very very loud that even my friend thought my sleep wake button fell off.

About to ask Apple for a return box. Just gonna keep my 4 or buy a 3GS.

Speaking of general Apple QC issues, I just bought a new Magic Trackpad from the Apple store not 2 hours ago and come to find after I open the package that there is a gouge in the aluminum of the trackpad right on the front of it right above the battery cover.

I mean, really, how hard is it to catch something like that before putting it in the box?

Yes. One retail, 2 replacements. I finally gave up with the 3rd one and sent it back to Apple.com for a refund.

I went back to my 3GS and miss the screen resolution. I will probably try for another one in the future but am going to wait for a while to let them work the kinks out of the first batches.

Hmm, in all honesty, I've had Apple products for years and my recent MB Air purchase, along with the iPhone 4S, has made me wonder if Apple's build qualities are slipping.

We will have to wait until the next big product release, but it does come as a coincidence that since Steve Job's decline the build quality has suffered. Apparently quality checks were his 'OCD'.

I'm getting concerned!
