Alright, so I know you can buy a new iPhone 4S unlocked and no-contracted for $649/$749/$849. Is it possible to get an iPhone 4S unlocked BUT on contract with AT&T?

No, not possible.

Every subsidized iPhone that AT&T sells on contract is locked. AT&T does not unlock iPhones.

If you buy an unlocked iphone, why would you want to be in contract with AT&T? The point with unlocked iphone is so that you can use the iphone freely with any GSM carrier without being in a contract.

I know some people buy an iphone with their upgrade then sell the phone for a good price and then buy an unlocked iphone, technically you wold be under contract if you do it that way.

Nope, but besides buying an unlocked phone, you can buy an AT&T iPhone at full price and it'll come unlocked. Not sure if there are any price differences between unlocked and AT&T 4S at full price though.

Buy the unlocked phone, then also buy one from AT&T on contract. Sell the locked one. You should end up paying subsidized price plus around $100.

Was just wondering. Thought if that was possible, I would do that and not have to worry about Baseband and such.
