My wife and I pre-ordered two 4S phones. One black 16gig (mine) and one white 16gig. After the initial rush I got mine up and running. There was an AT&T setting preventing my phone from working. Yesterday I sat down to transfer and activate my wife's phone. No luck. IPHONE not authorized. Called AT&T and they could not get it to work. Escalated to Apple and did not change anything. Escalated at Apple to a specialist. No matter what they had me do it would not be recognized by the network. I went to the local Apple store today and they gave me a new phone and sent mine to engineering for dissection. Everyone was very nice and tried for many hours to get this phone to work. Now I am just playing with the voice to text and Siri.

Update. 8 hours later the fully charged phone is a brick. Will not do anything, screen is black, & not recognized by itunes. Back to the Apple store in the morning. My wife is about ready to kill me.

Try a hard boot. Hold down the Power button on the top and the Home button for 10+ seconds at the same time and the iPhone should restart.

Dave I tried that first. I get nothing. I cannot get out of work in the morning so my wife is going to the Apple store. if she does not get arrested they should take care of her.
