I have an iPhone 4s which is updated to iOS 5.01. It is not jail broken.

Today I tried to do a Restore using iTunes but it keeps trying to update my iOS even though it is up to date, And both the phone and iTunes tell me it's up to date when I click on check latest version....just not during Restore.

I'm unable to do the Restore because I have aslow Internet connectiononmy desktop (windows Vista) and downloading such a large file is not doable.

I have been able in the past to restore when the iOS is current. Just not now.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Your computer always has to download the files.

If you're using iCloud, why not just do an erase all content and settings on the phone itself, then restore from a backup?
