iPhone 4S to sync with Gmail?

how to sync iphone 4S with gmail (mainly to see gmail contacts).

I went to setting - mail,contatcts,calendars - add account

here i could add gmail account but this doesnt give option for contacts (but only for mail, calendars, notes).

You might be better off using the Gmail app instead. Otherwise you will need to sync your Gmail Contacts with the Contacts app on OS X and then choose to sync those contacts to the phone.
