I can turn on personal hotspot through the wi-fi or bluetooth option and works fine, but I want my connection to work through USB.
I don't see the 'iPhone' option in the network preferences page on my mac when I connect my phone to my mac. In network preferences, it only shows 'wi-fi', 'firewire' and 'ethernet'.
Any tips to fix this?

The resolution being what? (In case someone stumbles on as similar issue and comes across this thread when trying to find some help.)

Oh sorry.
After lots of digging, found the solution. Didn't post because I didn't think many would still be in my situation.
This issue will only be of significance for users on iTunes 10.7 (best version of itunes ;)).
The Apple discussion thread below contains the resolution, found on page 2. Involves downloading a previous kext file version and kext file utility. Works flawlessly now.
