I'm waiting for this:
2 accounts and both are banned.
Edit: Oops reply to wrong person. Sorry...
I'm waiting for this:
3 year contract= $99
2 year contract= $199
1 year contract ? = $299 (?)
Seems logical
Lol you people... "How can you even make a phone last for 3 years lolz derp"
Are you people using it for a hockey puck or a coaster? Tossing it around or using it to prop up your wobbly table? There's an app for that.
Care for what you have and they'll last a lot longer than 3 years.
iPhone 3G lasted me 3 years of solid use, rarely shutting off, alarms, calls, a couple accidental drops and then I upgraded to the i5, it's still working just fine, battery and all. Aside from having an ancient ARM processor at 400mhz it's a perfect phone.
What you should actually say is "How can a phone still be viable with such rapid technological advancements in the market?" Well simply it isn't viable, it just gets you by until you can get the new one.
As I said, this has never happened in the history of the iPhone. Why Now? One word: Competition!
I'm not a fan of 2 year contracts never mind 3. That's too long.
Who keeps the same phone for 3 years nowadays?
3 year contract= $99
2 year contract= $199

Apple aint dropping the price, but the carriers! I dont think you understand a subsidie phone to a retail price phone.
In the US Apple bullies the carrier to where to set its price (well not bullies just tells them). It's a privilege for a carrier to sell iPhones in apples eyes, which is probably true. Carriers would charge more for an iPhone if they could since it cost them more.
But 3 years for 99 seems reasonable. Customers will be forced to pay a termination fee or pay full price for the next iPhone. Imagine using a 3 year old iPhone if you are really into iPhones? That would suck. In the end the carrier and apple win no matter what happens.
