iPhone 5 and Budget iPhone 4 to Launch in China in October?

yes, please bring a cheap iPhone 4 to China so that we can buy it unlocked via ebay and run it on ATT and T-Mobile here.
 
Well I'm sorry but the report is being intentionally misconstrued. What is meant is the most flipping obvious and logical reality: iPhone 5, and iPhone 4 will stick around at $99. See, its cheaper.

There is nothing else in the works. There is no plastic iPhone coming for the cheap market. Apple doesn't work that way.

I just want the thing to come out already so I can finally get rid of my 3GS!!!!!!!!!! It's so old, it has wood paneling :p

I spend so much time on macrumors, bgr, etc. anticipating the iPhone 5 it's getting ridiculous. I love it!!! Keep the rumors coming.

Let's see... yesterday it was iPhone 5 in Canada in October. Now China with a low-end iPhone4 in October.

So this must mean September for US since historically we're always first.

It's hard to imagine that by October that Apple would be blasting out enough units to launch world-wide... unless they've already started building stock. ?????

Can't wait. :D

It's not as old as my 3G! Which still works just like the first day I bought it. Granted there is always something bigger and better just around the corner, BUT there is always something bigger and better just around the corner...

How many folks on iPhone 5 release day will be clamoring for the iPhone 6?
 
Budget iPhone 4? Is that related to an 8 GB iPhone 4? I know there a lot of talk about Apple offering a significantly cheaper iPhone, but they might just do what they did with the 3GS: drop the capacity and drop the price a little.
 
just a thought...

Using this current rumor as a guessing point, I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone5 debuts in the USA near the end of September and then in China sometime in late October.
 
you want something that will take Apple to the next level?

Iphone that is cheaper on contract, that only uses wifi for data.

So no data plan required.


they would sell 10s of millions to the kids who have touches already.

Current iPod touch 4G, sold at same price, same spec + phone call and text messaging should make a nice budget iPhone.

No IPS, shoddy camera (I'm okay with it .. smartphone camera is a bonus, wouldn't mind even if it doesn't exist :D) .. 256MB RAM. That fits well

You know there will be atleast a week of debating between the people who like it in every way and the people who don't like it, THEN the iPhone 6 rumors will start

Yes, but first there will be a rumor saying a specific date, and after that date there will be an other rumor with an other date and after that date there will be another rumor an so on...
 
Cheaper phone...does $100 really make that big of a difference?? Especially when it gets you the current/better product? If so, then how the heck you gonna pay for the $80+ monthly carrier fees for two years????

Let's just hope the cheap phone isn't $199 and the phone5 is $299.

A $99 2 year contract iPhone4 would be a huge hit in the US.

I think they need to drop the 3GS or they need to up the processor so at least it has some more snappiness to it.

Hum... and that's exactly what they'll do come refresh since that's basically been the game plan all along.

The 3G was sold alongside the 3GS and the 3GS is sold alongside the 4. There's no reason to believe Apple won't keep the 4 around when they ship the 5 for the lowest storage/99$ pricetag.

Even at 99$ for 2 years, there's not much that's impressive about iPhone 4 these days, it has been very much eclipsed.

A lot of markets (think international) do not have long term cellular contracts.

In many places, the consumer buys the phone at full retail, then pays a lower price for contract-free service.

Here in America, the average cellular customer is used to a cheaper handset in exchange for a long-term contract with higher monthly fees that help subsidize the hardware.

Hey, I'm all for cheaper cellular contracts ;)



A cheaper wi-fi iphone with no data would be a big seller everywhere.
