I don't think this necessarily means an announcement can't come within the next week. My wife's 3GS is toasty though (my 4 is great), and I keep telling her to wait wait wait so hopefully soon.

Well no s***, Sherlock.

Well, you never know. All the leaks until now could be a diabolical plan by Apple to distract from something else! And the iPhone 5 is really delayed till 2013 in order to put in an octo-core A7 chip running at 4 GHz capable of 128 GFLOPS.

>_> Okay maybe not.

I like how they have Steve Jobs there when he's obv not gonna be the one making the announcement.

the longer we wait the better for me as i can only update coming jan 10 :p

the long delay is probably for

A getting iCloud / iOS5 ready
B getting Sprint/Tmobile on board
C trying to see how suing Samsung does as the iPhone 5 will look similar to the Galaxy S2
D last minute change of plans iPhone 4S & iPhone 5 instead of saving 5th for "6"
E getting money out of the delayed white iPhone 4 & trying to not piss of Verizon customers

Edit: LOL why so much negativity, because i mentioned the "Samsung" word? XD

The contrast between NY Times stories and Wall Street Journal stories is striking... Truly. Front page: Rumor has it the next iPhone is about a year away! Look for it in tomorrow's latest edition of the most hilarious name in news.

I'm stilling rolling with the first-gen iPhone. NFC capability is the last thing I care about in my next iPhone refresh. Seriously.

Can't wait!!! So if the announcement is weeks away looks like the first weeks of October will be packed with Apple news. I can see the invites going out on the last week of September, the announcement in the first week of October, and the release of the phone the next week after the announcement or the 21st. Would be nice if things happened sooner but hey it's better late than never. This also makes me think Steve Job's resignation really put hold on a lot of things.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/8E600)

No. Way.

I got sick of the delays, expecially because I had a huge discount for a phone to spend in September, so I got a Galaxy S2. Couldn't be happier.

and then weeks before u actually get ur hands on it

Lol, doubtful. I will pre order and get it on launch. :D I have an iPhone 4, and an iPad 2 so I don't NEED an iPhone 5, but really anxious to see what it looks like. These delays are getting ridiculous.
