Hey, I got an iPhone 5 from a guy who apparently ran over it with his car. I ordered a new home plate, but while I'm waiting I'd like to get it restored. I can't get past the "do you want to trust this computer" screen at the moment because I have no digitizer or home button. Most other programs like iTools, won't recognize it until it is allowed to trust the computer. I'd put it in DFU mode, but the home buttons gone...

Shall I try to exercise what little patience I have, or is there a workaround?

Not much you can do if you can't press that button that says trust.
Seems like it's in rough shape so mind as well get it repaired before you try to go any further.

Wait! Haha! We must make a movie called, "Rise of the Home-Buttonless"

I disconnected the battery to make sure it was shut down, then connected it again, put some aluminum foil on the gold prongs that connect to the home button and plugged it in. DFU mode started and I'm currently restoring!

(I feel so resourceful right now... maybe I should star in a Man Vs. iPhone series... xD )
