I don't have any exact values yet, but I'll take a screenshot tonight after using the phone all day. Friday, I used the phone all day but it didn't die completely at night. Saturday, battery life was pretty terrible. It would drop 2% during the minute or 2 that it took me to read through one page of a MR forum thread. But the meter sat at 1% for about 45 minutes before the phone finally died, so I think it definitely needed recalibration. Sunday's battery life was remarkably better, and last night I did a second full charge cycle (run it down til it dies, let it sit for an hour or 2, then let it charge fully). So far today, battery life seems really impressive. I've been using lightly it for about 4 hours, on and off, and I'm only at 95%.

Yea, I was running mine down fully to charge it last night and I was streaming some HBOGO and the phone went down to 2% quickly, and then when it hit 1% it took another 15 minutes of streaming the movie to die out completely. Also I noticed today moving in and out of coverage my phone got really hot and lost 10% of battery in 10 minutes while at work. Airplane mode it is now while at work...

i got 4.5 hours usage and 6 hours standby.

most of that time was streaming netflix. is that normal for streaming over LTE? my 4s would go 6 hours of constant netflix.

not that good so far

i charge up to 90% then used about 1 hr or GPS guided map, while listening shoutcast via LTE, not very impress with the battery life so far.

Today notes:

Charged my phone to 100% (Until it got the weird battery icon next to 100%).
Went in to work at 1pm -> Light usage resulting in 90% around 3pm.
3pm until now and current: running Spotify listening to music on WiFi

Time since last full charge:
Usage - 4 hours 10 minutes
Standby - 5 Hours, 39 minutes

Current battery status: 59%

I have now cycled my battery 3x and will move to normal use. (Occasional charges during the day.)

So far it appears that the cycling has improved the ability of the phone to accurately show the battery life but only time will tell.

Apple definitely could have put more battery power into this phone but it's not horrible for me..

I guess it's unfortunate that you don't work for Apple. You could have single handedly made the iPhone 5 even better!

For those of you that will get 3.5 - 4hrs usage time(web browsing, calls, video, texting)...get used to it..this is an LTE device and even though I got rid of the iPhone 5 after only 6hrs(wasn't impressed) the battery life I was very impressed with for an LTE device. With only a 1500ma battery. I had 2hrs 20m usage through 57% battery use(phone came pre charged to 62%). That usage time was strictly web browsing and downloading apps. Playing music for the iPod or video local to the device will battle hit your battery at all and should not be included in usage stats. The i5 should be on par with the GS3 as far as battery life. I was getting getting 3.5-4hrs with the GS3 when I had it.

Bottom line..the iPhone is getting good battery life. You just experiencing wht everyone had been for 2yrs now, just not as bad

Definitely getting worse (but not terrible) battery life out of my 5 compared to my 4 under exactly the same settings and usage. Probably the only thing I don't love about the 5. (And the small scuff on the edge. Ugh.)

So Far, It's Better

Right now, on track for 9 hour usage, with over 24 hours standby. This is better than my 4S, which averaged around 7 hours.

My battery life when compared to my iPhone 4 is pretty poor. This is running most of the day on wifi.

I've had to plug in my iP5 for a second charge in the afternoon every day since I got it. I never had to plug in my iP4s. Well ..... I was going through all the settings and noticed that Personal Hotspot was turned on! I have NO idea when or why it was turned on. Anyone else have this happen?

I'll see how the battery life is tomorrow!

I am not happy with this battery at ALL. I turned everything off and have done two restores as a "New" phone. Hopefully this works. If not I am headed into the stores. I called the apple support line and they told me they had no calls about battery issues. Ha!

My phone was on 95% when I left the house this morning around 7:40. With regular use on LTE and part of the time on wifi, the battery went down fast. By 2:00 it was on 30% and by 4 it was around 15%. I purposely kept using it so the battery would drain and by 5:00 I had it fully drained to fully charge again. I'm going to try it tomorrow it with 4G LTE (Verizon) off to see if it makes a difference.

I've done nothing special with the settings and I got this, only charged once since I got it on Friday. Now I have never done a restore as new and have upgraded from a 3g-4-4s-5 so my battery has traditionally sucked but its been amazing with the Iphone 5.

Don't have a pic to post. Somehow since my last full charge my usage is staying blank. Hopefully it resets this charge. But I monitored my battery usage today and was roughly using 10% per hour unless I was actually using the phone then I would just watch the battery drop. Btw I set up as new so for everyone saying that is why -it's not. I am also unable to stay connected to my wifi at home. No clue why. Le sigh.

Pretty impressed so far. I calibrated the battery meter by running it down, then charging to full while the phone is off. I did this to prevent any parasitic load.

No music, but lots of wifi browsing, texts, and emails. Some calls, some video, some LTE. Brightness at 60%.

All radios on except Bluetooth. Push email and notifications all on.

After dropping 26 percent in less than an hour I turned my phone off and I just gave my phone a one hour test. Turned it off, turned notifications off, turned only 4G on and turned location services off. These are my results.....not very good. Suggestions?

8 percent with zero usage? sounds fishy right??

I talked to my dad today about his iPhone 5 battery life. He charged it up Friday then has used it since. His usage was 7 hours and standby was 3 days 1 hour 24 minutes. I reset all of my settings and changed them to help battery life. Hopefully that puts me somewhere close to his battery life.

Mine from yesterday.

Usage involved 1hr45m ish of YouTube, about 30mins of Skype, 1hrs of Whatsapp, SMS, brief call, 30mins of Music, an hour or so of web browsing, 10mins of Bejeweled, and general brief app launches plus all-round fiddling.

Also Push email, contacts, calendar. Plus Fetch email hourly.

All done with a mixture of WiFi and 3G. No BT. Auto Brightness On.

Today was my first day of typical (for me) use. So far, the battery life seems like an improvement over my 4s. Starting from 100% when I leave in the morning, my 4s would be at around 50% by the time I got home from work. My 5 was at 64% today.

Hoping this improves over the next couple weeks.

Edit: to be clear, the standby time is the total time since unplugged, and the usage time is the time that the phone was awake?

Looks like my phone is going to outlast me today. I used my phone today to watch some TED talks, iMessages/text messages, some quick phone convos, web browsing (on a combo of LTE and wifi), and a bit of Map routing activity. my 4S definitely never came close to this with this much battery left.

I am pretty happy with my iphone 5 battery life. I used it mainly to play music for 2 hours on bluetooth headphones while browsing the internet. Did some calling, texting, browsing web. My iphone 4S would have died at 4 hrs usage so this is pretty damn good for me.
