Hey,

Sorry for the thread necromancy here, but I thought I'd post something:

I just got a BlueAnt Q2 and it works great with the iPhone 5, except when I put it in my pocket. If I'm listening to music and I put the phone in my pocket, if I have my finger on the back top glass to the right of the lens and flash, the bluetooth just completely cuts out. Not staticy, just dead. If I move my finger off, it comes back. But often, if it's in my pocket, it will cut in and out. I generally have the phone in my pocket top down with the screen toward my leg.

Is something faulty here? This is my first real experience with a bluetooth headset (thanks to moving to CA, I'm forced to be safe in the car!!), so I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it seems like something that shouldn't happen given what the phone and the headset cost.

Just wondering if I should take it into the Apple store or not. I did notice that the phone arrived with a ding on the edge right in the top middle of the back of the phone. Given how fragile the thing is, I didn't think much of it, but I wonder if this phone took a hard hit and messed up the antenna before it got shipped.

I'm encountering quite a few BT issues myself. I bought an iPhone 5 the first weekend (unsure of the production week) and immediately noticed decreased range on my home stereo receiver and headsets (Jawbone & HBS-700/HBS-730). Very frustrating as I use BT all day long. I can't even get a good workout in, maybe Apple didn't take my muscle density into consideration when designing the phone.

Anyhow, I consistently get "Device out of range" warnings on my headsets despite the phone being ~2 feet away in my pocket.

I replaced my phone last night with a unit produced in week 38, and am experiencing the same or potentially worse reception.

Crossing my fingers Apple does something. My co-workers are mocking me.

FYI I just got off the phone with Apple Support. I let them know the issues I was having with my 3 BT 2.1 devices and one BT 3 device, and got kicked up to another specialist. They informed me there is a known issue with the BT SOFTWARE that will be addressed in a future patch.

He told me swapping phones again will make no difference. Basically, there's no hope until 6.0.1 at a minimum comes out.

/yay

FWIW, I am having good success with my iP5 when using both the Jawbone Icon and Jambox devices. I have had my iP5 some 25 feet away from the Jambox without any lost of BT connection. The Icon ear piece works regardless of where my iP5 is placed . . . Umm, please don't go there.
