iPhone 5 camera stopped working.. HELP?

recently noticed the last few days my snapchat wouldnt work, camera wasnt opening up and couldnt use the program. Thought not much of it just that the app was screwed. What ever

then yesterday i go to use the actual camera, just a black screen nothing. press to switch to the front... nothing just black. hard reset the phone with the home and lock button... nothing.

ended up restoring and updating the phone... and you guessed it, nothing.

no idea what to do next, all ive seen online is to reset or restore the phone which ive done both and camera still does not work.

Looks like a visit to the Apple store would be the way to go.

im not sure what else to do, id rather not go especially on a saturday since its so busy

Unless you are comfortable opening your phone up and doing your own repairs, the Apple store is probably your best bet.

Well yes. It would be replaced with a refub and be like new.

You other choice is to get a screw driver and butcher your device.

Last choice is to live with it. Who needs a camera?

They don't need to give him a new phone, they can put a new camera module in it. Cost will be in the region of £40 I believe.

That might be the way you Brits do it there, but here they simply replace your phone on the spot most of the time if it is under warranty in most US Apple stores.

They can do that in the states too.

It depends on the store .... Some have the capability of change some parts, others cannot and just swap the phone with a refurbished.

wouldnt opening the phone void the warranty? keep in mind im still under 1 year

and update. back camera STILL not working. When i press to switch to the front camera it doesnt but when i go back to the home screen and click back in the camera and the front camera works. back camera will NOT turn on

Restore fresh. Not from a backup.

If that doesn't work, make an appointment at the Apple store.
