True. Recent news indicates the iPhone fad is over in China.

The current phone in high demand is the Samsung Galaxy Line of smartphones. The Note, and Galaxy S III are the most highly sought after.

Having read this in several sites & publications it's a refreshing reminder that nothing beats good competition.

Now that Samsung has been a formidable competitor against Apple, perhaps it will encourage the Cupertino company to do something. Like getting back to innovating instead of taking the low road & hiring more lawyers.

Hmmm... So letting someone take shortcuts by ripping you off is now considered taking the high road?

As for demand in China, it's no different than in the US before the iPhone 5 launched when all the talk was about the GS3. Once the iPhone 5 launched, that all changed. Galaxy sales quickly faded which is why you're already seeing fire sales for the S3 and why Samsung execs tried to mute this quarter's expectations with talk of competition (ie, iPhone 5 launch). It will be the same in China. Apple will drown out Samsung with the iPad mini and iPhone 5 launch.

Its funny they mentioned qatar. iPhone 5 has been selling since septemebr at every electronics store here. I know vodafone is officially bring it here. But pretty much anyone who wanted an iPhone 5 has already gotten one.

Lagging news I'd guess. The 5 only JUST got there. Just got back from China too, and if the bootleg market is any indication, Apple will be back on top in a month.

Anybody knows when iPad mini will get to Taiwan ?

Btw: Some guys here should really get out of there "my country is superior"-bubble and get their facts straight about the rest of the world

Bahamas, eh? That's a step closer, though there are no Apple Stores and iTunes content is severely limited. Perhaps they'll have it all taken care of, by the time I buy my private island. ;)

Lol the gs3 is almost a year old is why the price is dropped

Most parts of the world sell GSM cards like candy in every store and the phones are unlocked.

Android phones are available from 20 bucks to 700 bucks. Good luck to Apple in keeping up with that.

Samsung can and will fork Android. For the sake of performance and market share. Samsung will be able to optimize their fork of Android for their specific hardware. No more one-size-fits-all with vanilla (pun intended) Android releases.

And Samsung's fork of Android will become the de facto standard that all developers will first code to. Because Samsung has beaten all other Android manufacturers into the dirt. The official Google Android releases, and all "official generic Android" Nexus devices, will become even more irrelevant. They'll be ignored by developers and consumers alike.

Good luck to Google in keeping up with that.

Not Quite,,, :) Only narrow minded people are inclined to such kind of thinking... :) Pinoy here as well :)

I agree but we have to accept the fact that majority of our fellow countrymen do think you are rich if you have the latest and the greatest gadgets. It is a sad fact. :(

Ok.... let's go back to the main topic... :p

Maybe Apple will get round to making an iPhone 5 for the other 66% of the UK users who aren't with TMobile/Orange.

Google has messed up its devices. None of which seem to have a catchy design. They all look like bricks. Their latest 10.1" Tablet is a reference for how NOT to design a tablet. It's the Buick Rendevous of tablets.

No offence bro,but yes in many countries, owning an iPhone is BMW of cars, one example is India, even an iPhone 4 is an exotic, the Apple brand has huge cache in India.

Samsung (and with other android product line devices) is having strong market here in Indonesia, Apple always coming very late to launch their products......:(
