Hey guys. So I've had my iPhone 5 for a little over a year, no issues whatsoever, and I baby the hell out of my phone (never dropped once, not water damager, scratches, ect). Out of nowhere, my earpiece stopped working, resorting me to only use speaker phone. I took my phone to apple, which was only 3 weeks out of warranty, and they wanted upwards of $150 to fix it (ridiculous). So, having plenty of experience working on iPhones, I went ahead and just ordered a new earpiece from a reputable website. I replaced the earpiece, worked perfect.....for maybe 5 or 6 hours. After that short lived time, it went back to not working. I am on iOS 8, but this was happening BEFORE installing beta whatsoever. I thought MAYBE I got a bad piece, ordered another, same thing - good for a few hours then nothing. Any idea what could be happening, and anyone ever have this same issue? Could something be shorting it out? Thanks in advance for any help!

Were you able to figure this out? My iPhone 5 is currently doing the same.

I replaced with a new earpiece, worked for a day then stopped working.

Took the phone apart again, without replacing the speaker again I just took the new speaker out and put it back in again thinking it was just a bad connection. Phone worked again for about a day then went out again. Did the same thing, took it apart and without replacing anything again put it back together and it worked for about a day.

I am stumped
