My beautiful, 10-month old iPhone 5 has partially melted. The phone is still in -"one piece", aside from the small top aluminum back piece which fell off but is otherwise flawless. Miraculously, the glass screen itself and home button are intact, but the screen has partially separated from the rest of the phone and you can see the melted interior. What are my chances of being eligible for OOW replacement? Not sure if this would classify as "catastrophic" damage or if the tiny piece of aluminum that separated renders it "not in one piece". Thoughts? Am I better off calling Apple or going into the store?

if the phone is able to power on, i would say damage isn't catastrophic. i would take it into an apple store regardless (don't forget to make a genius bar appointment).

Unfortunately, I can't power it on :(
