Long time ago I noticed some weird behavior in my iPhones 5 flashlight which I incorrectly attributed to the fact that those apps were 3rd party ones and may fail.
However it also happened when taking pictures with the camera, the flashlight would mostly never go off and the few times it did it was late.

Now with iOS 7, I realized that not even Apple's own flashlight works for me.
Again, sometimes it does, even blinks when physically moving the phone.

Of course there is some sort of hardware failure in my device, which fortunately is still under the 1-year-warranty.

I'm traveling to the USA next week (I bought my iPhone over there) and intend to take it to an Apple Store to get it fixed.
Now, my question is whether the flashlight hardware problem is repairable or if they will change my device for a "new" (refurbished) one.

I know there are known parts that are repairable and others that Apple chooses to completely exchange for a new device.
In which category falls the flashlight failure?

Thanks

You will most likely get a refurbished one.

Thanks! Wanted to know so I would make a backup before taking it to the Apple Store.

Anyone with the same issue with their iPhone 5 or any other iPhone?
