iPhone 5 grey screen of death?

Hi,

Was wondering if you could help me. I was using my iphone 5 as normal about half hour ago. The entire screen then went black, with black lines, almost static. Now it will only turn on to a grey screen with the apple logo & about 10 small white messages. There is no error code. One says "(NAND) find flash media and keep out, 601 physical NAND block", and several others. All other messages also start with (NAND).

Can anyone help plz? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a hardware problem. Here's a link from iFixit discussing a similar issue.

Hopefully it's still under warranty.

It's about 10-11 months old so hoping it's still under warranty. Not sure what DFU is? Thanks x

Apple Store will replace your defective unit probably. Make an appointment there as soon as you can.

Booked for tomorrow, although will phone Vodafone and see if they will replace

Stick with Apple, with Vodafone you will be waiting forever for a replacement and they will give you a dumb phone to use while you wait. Apple Genius Bar will replace it immediately there and then if there is a hardware issue.
