yeah you are probably overwhelmed with moaning, but this is particulary dumb why would Apple lower the overall volume of the speaker? the ringontes sound horribly low

Got to be your phone. They're nice and loud on my iPhone 5. Try and see if a reset of your settings fixes it.

can only people using iOS 7 all the way from the betas reply to this thread please? nothing against iOS 7 n00bs but this is obviously not the same as beta 6 or iOS 6, it obviously got lowered...

It got lowered, but then I felt it was louder than iOS 6 a couple of betas back so who knows.

The new sounds are very low, but the "classic" tones seem ok to me.

i noticed this too on my ipad mini when i loaded the GM on it. i even made sure i pushed the volume up key all the way up. it wasnt until i went into the sounds menu and noticed the volume level still showed as halfway. hit the slider for letting the side key adjust volume and raise it up there.

I can confirm this. The newly added ringtones and alerts are way too low volume for them to be usable. I constantly kept on pressing Volume up button only to find out that the volume was already maxed out.

I even restarted my 4S to re confirm. It was a fresh install from DFU mode and phone was set as new.

However the Classic ringtones sound very loud.
Clearly an issue of audio encoding or maybe they forgot to add gain to them. Expect an update to this.

all I can say is the volume sounds just fine on my iphone 5.

except.......the siri bleeps sound retarded

Agree with the OP - was going to change my ringtone on a 4S from the one many have "Old Phone" to "Presto" but it just isn't as loud.

It's probably that way so it doesn't startle Sir Jony when he's relaxing in the lotus position contemplating his navel.

Definitely too low! It's starting to bother me. All volumes, including the classics, are way too low for me.

The new sounds are quieter and much more compressed for me. The alarm is very quiet.

Where ios 6 had very poppy starts which were alarming, the ios7 sounds are way too compressed and have no range. Its not alarming at all.

I agree! I love the new ringtones, but the volume is a lot lower than what I'm used to. Hard to hear my phone ring when I'm out shopping...

When picking ringtones and holding the phone close it sounds like they are all decently loud, but when actually getting a call and the phone is in your pocket or lying somewhere a few feet away from you (if not a few rooms away or something like that), it does sound more subdued, to put it lightly.

Anyone else confirm this, don't wanna have to set everything back up again including wifi passwords.

I just tried it. Didn't solve anything.

I have an iPhone 4S and same issue here with the GM. I did a "clean" install from 6.1.3 (meaning a restore when upgrading)
