On A Apple
Hi MR!

So my iPhone 5 is about 2 months old now, and randomly (well randomly it seems, there must be SOME logic somewhere... right?) my iPhone keeps going into DFU mode. The only slight connection I can make is it happened around the same time as sending a picture (<5m after) but i don't wish to attempt to replicate it incase I get (see below) another 3 hour fight.

EDIT: Now it seems to just turn on and off. Sometimes goes into DFU sometimes not. :(

It happened last night and i spend 3 hours trying to restore it (while getting iTunes Error 9 and 1611(i think) the whole time) I got it restored the next morning. But not 10 minutes ago it went into DFU mode again. Luckily the restore process was easy.

Thoughts? Comments? Helpful way to fix the problem?

I've got latest iOS, Mac OS, iTunes etc etc. No high heats, physical damage, JailBreak (duh!) or unlock.

Is taking it back to apple for a warranty replacement not an option?

Closest Apple store is around 3 hours and time isn't good at the moment. I am going to take it back to the phone company i got it from and tell them i want it replaced. It's under warranty so all should go fine. It's just been a real pain having to use my old phone. But hey at least I got one.

That will be my next option.

I tried restoring it today because im waiting on some important texts and it has worked. The problem is, i can't work out what started it. and thus what ill cause it again. Any ideas how I can prove it was doing this? I can't have it doing it again :/

If its not doing it again then the problem was software related and gone.
If it does it again then you show them and get it replaced.
I wouldnt worry about it if it runs good now.

Yeah it turned off, on, froze in music and turned off then back into restore mode. i hoped it had magically fixed it
