iPhone 5 LED light no longer working

My iPhone 5 LED light is not working anymore when taking pictures or when using apps that use the light. There's no water damage and I use an Otterbox Defender case. I've tried restoring it, but no dice. Any thoughts/tips to get it to work? Thanks!
 
Bring it to Apple and they should replace it for you.
Its not something that can be fixed by restoring or with software.
 
Oh, that sucks that it expired before that happened.
See if a local iphone repair place can repair the LED for cheap.
How much did Apple want to charge in order to fix it? Did they want to charge you $229 +tax to replace the whole phone?

I didn't bother with them cause I know they'd want to charge me a ridiculous amount to repair it. I'll be visiting some local repair shops to get quotes.

Actually, I didn't take it to Apple, just to AT&T and they were the ones who told me to get it repaired. Anyways, hopefully it'll be cheap to repair.

There's plenty of iphone repair places around, hope you find one that's priced good and does a good job.

I would still give it a shot. Apple might even fix it for you considering you did not get the phone wet or anything. Apple is pretty good with helping out if you're honest. 🙂

BTW - When did your warranty end? Wasn't the iPhone 5 released on 9/21? Did you buy it right when it was new?

Agreed, but he should find out the price from Apple before he goes anywhere. What if they fix it and the problem returns?
 
I bought it from someone and its out of contract. I recently unlocked it via AT&T online unlocking service.
