Looks just like the original Element and Atomic cases. Just all metal instead of a hybrid. Great price but seems according to the numbers provided - HEAVY!!

i used one for my 4S and loved it. nice heft plus no issues for me. Also from what i have seen the antenna on the iP5 is on the back glass parts. On the blueprints it says "do not cover with metal" on those parts so.. We shall see.

I don't for see a metal case hurting reception because the antenna system s totally different. I think this case will work fine! Please let us know the results.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this case when you get it!

Same here. Please to post in this thread or at least a link to your write up.

I can't decide on this one.

Also, as far as the weight goes:

Iphone 5 (112g) + Case (58g) = 170 grams

Naked iPhone 4/4s = 140 grams

For what it's worth.

Does anyone know of a variation of a metal 'bumper' that has rubber on the edges. Thinking of something like the apple bumper- but where the hard plastic surround is metal.

I like the looks of the metal bumpers- but want to rubber edge- even it just one side- to keep it from sliding around.

I've tried several iphone bumpers for my 4 in the past, and they ALL either killed reception, GPS, or data speed.

I'm kind of scared to go back. With every metal case it was a disappointment.

Let me know how these work out for you because the iPhone 5 is not stainless steel anymore, and having another aluminum annodized surface in contact with the iphone's aluminum may result in scratching.

Report back after a few weeks of use.

Reception Probelem

Bad reception with 'true' aluminum bumper case on iPhone 4. How is reception on iPhone 5 which already has a full aluminum back? Anyone try one yet? Thanks,

Still waiting. Tracking shows it in Chicago. So i'm hoping to get it tomorrow or Thursday. I think it might work better, as from what i see in the iphone 5 blueprints, the part Apple does not want you to cover is those 2 glass parts on the back. So we will see.

All aluminum casing will kill your signal by one bar and Knock your GPS accuracy way way a way...compliment of Element Casing and others

Not all ...will adversely affect signal/GPS on the 4.
Element vapor pro does not!
Lets hope iPhone 5 will behave differently with the element vapor style case.;-)

Whats funny about this is, this is an original product. Element doesn't have one out yet, so these Chinese fakes are no longer fake. they are just designed after the 4/4s ones. So we will see how it all goes.

Has anyone received their metal bumper yet? I would like to know if the bumper effects your signal. Please post pics. :D

OK everyone. I have received my bumper. I think it looks beautiful! But of course.. there is a problem. You lose MASSIVE signal. about 40% give or take. Which makes this case a no go. I'm truly upset. The case looks wonderful on the phone. I seriously don't want to take it off.

But alas yes the phone drops massive signal. although, GPS isn't too bad. i drove around Syracuse today mapping out and using the driving directions and it worked flawlessly. So. GPS seems to be ok if NOT at all effected. But at places i know i have LYE i dropped to 4g and in my house where i have 4 bars LTE i get 2. So yeah.

I would also like to say.. I find it hilarious that they are marked as Vapor 4. Element does not make an iPhone 5 case at all (yet) yet they still mimicked the Element packaging.

So yeah. here are more pictures. I even attempted to add more padding to the corners and sides. That did no difference.
